Our Process for Bringing Products to Life

We follow a clear, transparent process for every project.

1
Timeline: 1-2 days

We Review Your Design

You send us your drawing or design file. We'll take a look and give you honest feedback on what it will take to make it, and if we see any obvious problems.

2
Timeline: 1-2 weeks

We Make a Sample

We manage one of our partner factories to create a physical sample for you. You get to hold it, test it, and make sure it's exactly what you want.

3
Timeline: 2-3 weeks

We Make the Mold

Once you approve the sample, we oversee the creation of the mold (or "tooling") that will be used to make thousands of your products. Timeline varies based on product complexity.

How We Helped Heloise Launch Her Coffee Brand Quickly

Heloise needed custom stand-up pouches for her coffee brand. Standard printing plates would take 1 week to make, but she was a small business wanting to test the market quickly.

We suggested digital printing instead. While the unit cost was higher and colors had slight differences from standard printing, it meant she could get finished pouches in just 1 week.

The total cost was manageable for her startup budget, and she could test her design and market response immediately.

After successful market testing, Sarah moved to standard printing plates for larger orders. She said the quick start was worth every penny.

Only Have an Idea?

That's okay, we can help guide you. We'll listen to your concept and, if it fits our expertise, we can connect you with a trusted designer to create the technical drawings needed for production. Just know that this design phase takes extra time and investment.

Your Questions, Answered Honestly

Are you an engineering design firm?

No. We are project managers and sourcing experts. We don't design products ourselves, but we have a proven process for managing the manufacturing of a client's finished design.

How much does a mold cost?

It can range from a few thousand dollars for a simple part to tens of thousands for a complex one. We'll always get you a clear, transparent quote upfront before you commit.

How long does the whole process take?

From design review to finished mold: typically 4-6 weeks total. Design review takes 1-2 days, samples take 1-2 weeks, and molds take 2-3 weeks. Complex products may take longer.

What if the first prototype isn't perfect?

That's normal! We usually need 1-2 rounds of sample refinement. We work with you to adjust the design and make new samples until you're completely satisfied before moving to mold creation.

Do I own the mold after it's made?

Yes, you own the mold. We can arrange for it to be stored at the factory for future production runs, or shipped to you if you prefer to control it directly.

What if my product is very technical and requires high precision?

Our process is designed to handle a wide range of products. For projects that require highly specialized engineering, our first step is always a thorough design review. We will be transparent with you about the manufacturing challenges and, if needed, leverage specialist partners in our network. We will only proceed if we are confident we can meet your quality standards.
