Common Questions About OEM/ODM
What's the difference between OEM and ODM?
OEM means we manufacture your exact design. ODM means we help you develop the design first, then manufacture it. Most of our clients come to us with designs already (OEM), but we can handle both.
What's the minimum order quantity?
It depends on your product, but typically 500-1,000 pieces minimum. Some simple products can go as low as 200 pieces, while complex electronics might need 2,000+ pieces to make economic sense.
How do you protect my intellectual property?
We work with established factories that sign NDAs and non-compete agreements. We can also help you file for design patents in China before production starts. However, IP protection in manufacturing always involves some risk - we're transparent about this.
What if the factory makes defective products?
That's exactly why we do quality inspections before shipping. If we catch defects, the factory fixes them at no cost to you. If defective products somehow reach you, we work with the factory to make it right.
How much do you charge for project management?
If you have complete technical drawings, our project management is included in our manufacturing margin - no separate fee. If you need design development help, we charge $2,000-8,000 depending on complexity.
Can you help with just a few prototypes?
For small prototype quantities (under 100 pieces), it's usually more cost-effective to use local 3D printing or prototype services. We specialize in manufacturing hundreds or thousands of pieces efficiently.
